So maybe I could be a fly......

And feed arachnid as I die, and view the ritual from within the silken tunnel that they spin....

The festival 8 pin is looking so amazing! The final proof should be done in a couple days and i can move onto creating the next pin. The whirlwind of ideas is blowing my mind daily as I converse with Mike and Tanner about the endless possibilities.

To wish that it fell from my hand...

Words cannot describe the feeling of creating something special, when all the pieces come together and the idea coalesces before your very eyes. I am very excited to show you the Phish pins I have created but I cant let the cat out of the bag just yet. A few more finishing touches and we should be good to go.

So if im inside your head....

The last 24 hours have been amazing !
So much brainstorming going on. The pin designs for Festival 8 have evolved into monsters!
My Festival 8 design has invoked the phenomenon of synchronicity as our rough drafts we send each other look almost identical! Great minds think alike!
We're sharing the same exact thoughts, even writing it down and coming up with the same graphic. Absolutely phenomenal work guys... we are crushing it!

The ideas are just pouring out one after another. As one idea finishes it jogs loose another,
and the sketches and scribblings on my desk are piling up . I am amassing an arsenal of esoteric ideas for Phish pins and its become an obsession. There's nothing I can say to make it stop...

Something small would pin me down

Now that Phish is back the creative juices are flowing more than ever. In the past I focused mainly on posters and stickers and t shirts but when Tanner showed me the Lizard Pin he and Mike made I knew I had to team up with these guys and start creating some pins of my own. Here is the Lizard pin that MYFE designs made, it is beautiful!

What is the central theme to this everlasting spoof?

If my knowledge serves me correctly,
Phish makes references to TIME and increments of time more than any other subject matter.

Here are some off the top of my head...Vultures is a great example but there are so many...

"Timing is everything, that much I know.
Sometimes I'm fast(er) and sometimes I'm slow
Some days vacation but some days I'm told
I've come to to the end of the line
But when I can't be what's expected of me
I look at the clock and say this can't be
Watching it pass without reason or rhyme
I feel I'm suspended in time"

Time Turns Elastic, In and out of focus
Well they say TIME loves a hero!
Stealing Time from the Faulty Plan
Time for the meatstick, take out the meat stick time
Time time time for the last rewind
If time were only part of the equasion
Come waste your time with me
The Time labratory from NYE 1995
The Harpua where they freeze time and we're stuck in 1996 " The Horrible sound of Hell"
The Meatstick NYE clock from Big Cypress
Time by Pink Floyd
Good Times Bad Times
Party Time
That time then and once again, im bouncing round the room
I was taught a month ago To bide my time and take it slow
This time will be different , until i do it again
There ain't no time to stash the Gumbo
Take me to another place, she said, Take me to another timeWhen all the time spent leading I've been following instead
Waiting for the time when I can say this has all been wonderful but now im on my way...
Time keeps on slippin slippin slippin into the future!!!

In and Out of Focus, Time Turns Elastic

Listening to 3.0 Phish 2009 you may have noticed that the music is alot slower than usual. There seems to be a deliberate effort by Trey to focus more on the individual note rather than playing many notes. This bending / shaping of the note has resulted in a kind of 'drunk sound' to the notes he plays. There are no super fast ripping backwards solos or looping effects .
Phish is slowly pulling back on the sling shot. They are back in the time laboratory slowing down the music, altering the time in which we experience it . I believe this is done purposely so they can pick up the momentum show after show to create a more profound effect for us musically. The music will always get better because they are deliberately adding intensity and speed to each show very much like they did in the past and this summer..... Time turns Elastic...

What album will Phish play for Halloween?

You can speculate all day and still not get it right.
That doesn't keep us from trying though.
Here are some picks I think may be possible.
Electric Ladyland
Physical Graffitti
Nothing Shocking

That time then and once again...

With Festival 8 / Halloween looming in the distance, and today being a day for reflection, I decided to open a forum where we can exchange thoughts and ideas about Phish and all that it encompasses . Its really amazing to have Phish back in our lives and reconnecting with old friends and new ones has been rejuvenating to say the least. The creative juices are flowing again and I am pleased to say we are in the process of making some special new commemorative pins for the upcoming shows and a poster for Festival 8.
Since this is the first entry into the phishpins blog, I must start by thanking Tanner who took the the object and started the game....
When he showed me the Commemorative Lizard pin that he and Monk had designed, all the creative lightbulbs went off and I knew it was the beginning of a great new friendship covered with pins and a rabid love for Phish. Ideas began to erupt out of my skull like a volcano and i knew I had to start creating some special Phish pins of my own. In fact I have created many designs just in the last few days of brainstorming!

I can already tell that as a team we are a creative juggernaut that can't be stopped.

I would also like to thank Steve and Rob for their help in making all of these dreams....

We are working on some very special pieces for Festival 8.
We look forward to unveiling them to you all in person : )

See you there!
